exibition over!

"low horizons" is over. The exhibition dismantled . "Portaits Gallery " consider the exhibition a success. Both myself and John sold work which is really exciting.We had really positive reviews from the press. One headline proclaimed " Mother Earth and the Eternal Vortex" which made me feel really happy.

Finland is a superb place I felt really at home clean air, clear skies, wooden houses . Forests and lakes and lovely people .Thanks to Niki, Merja, and everyone at the gallery for being so kind and all the superb folks that I briefly met. Anna for the speech, I hope to see you again!

A feeling of sadness remains. Those works have been my passion for 18 months .......

THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON.

Its election day . An envelope is in my mail box .Inside is a new c/d. The Flaming Lips do "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON". Why today?. I slip the shiny disc into the player and press play. 40 or so minutes later I remember why this record is a classic of modern times. Although hated by punks and trendy journalists , considered middle of the road because every home had one, here is a new version released in the tenth year of this new century this ,so called, century of hope. Dark Side of the Moon is a record for now. Listen to the anguish and hopelessness in the lyrics, listen to the considered reflection on modern life. 1973? ITS 2010 AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED. Thatcher, Blair, and now we are all going to vote again. Oh my goodness "us and them"...."but for the price of tea and a slice the old man died"..... my favourite "and then one day you find ten years have got behind you no one told you how to run, you missed the starting gun"....Can we make a difference when we vote? who do we vote in? "the man with the gun"? "the lunatic on the grass"? "Money, get a good job"....

So dust off that copy of D.S.O.T.M. or if you can grab the Lips version and let it speak into your life oh yes and send one to messrs Brown,Blair and Clegg and I'll see you on the dark side of the moon......
